Initially, the Polish Chamber Choir’s concert at the Gdańsk Music Festival was to have taken place in May on the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Paul II. Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s Totus tuus, composed with a special dedication for John Paul II, was to have been performed for the occasion. Due to the state of epidemic threat that was introduced in Poland and the sad news of the death of maestro Krzysztof Penderecki, the concert was moved and expanded to include the genius’s compositions that will see their second-ever performance in Poland on 30 September!
